FCA To Announce New Plans for Tychy Factory in June

CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Sergio Marchionne stated that during the meeting with investors on 1 June new plans for the production of the factory in Tychy would be announced. According to data from FCA, the factory in Tychy produced over 263,400 cars in 2017 as compared to 273,700 the year before. At its peak the factory produced over 600,000 annually. Trade unions from car factories in Silesia expressed their concerns about the future of the factory in Tychy in a letter to PM Mateusz Morawiecki mentioning the lack of new models in production. When asked about the future of the company, Marchionne stated that releasing new models of Fiat is not a priority for the company. FCA will focus on the sale of Alfa Romeo and Maserati on the European market. The CEO said that Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia are now on the highest technical level that is difficult to be reached by the competition.
