LAS CRUCES - Linda Mauldin and Adam Bayless from Sam's Club of Las Cruces visited Central Elementary School September 28, 2009 to recognize staff because Central Elementary's students had the greatest gain in reading in Adequate Yearly Progress testing from 2008 to 2009 of any LCPS elementary school.

"Sam's Clubs across the country recognized 40,000 teachers for a job well done," said LCPS Coordinator for School-Community Partnerships Leslie Cervantes. "The Central Elementary staff was treated to a cake, and 10 lucky winners were given $100 Sam's Club gift cards to use for their classroom or department," she said.

The 10 winners were Priscilla Lopez, Helaina Krug, Elizabeth Molina, Jeanette Saenz, Amelia Angel, Jerry Hurt, Margarita Pena, Juana Morales, Mayra Llerenas and Margie Martinez.
