Local kids get a Wal-Mart shopping spree

Police cruisers were lined up in front of the Redlands Wal-Mart on Thursday, as officers helped 44 underprivileged children from Redlands schools shop for Christmas gifts during the annual Souled Out for Kids shopping spree organized by Wal-Mart and two local churches. The Redlands Police Department provided a motor escort for the two buses that delivered the large group of children to the store.

The children, from Franklin and Kingsbury Elementary Schools, received $100 dollars each to shop for whatever they desired during the spree.
