DIFC Courts Chief Justice Hwang presented the DIFC Courts Annual Review 2013 to DIFC Chairman Shaikh Maktoum and briefed Shaikh Mohammed on the main highlights of the report.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has met Chief Justice of the DIFC Courts, Michael Hwang, at the Dubai International Financial Centre, or DIFC.
The meeting was also attended by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of DIFC.
DIFC Courts Chief Justice Hwang presented the DIFC Courts Annual Review 2013 to DIFC Chairman Shaikh Maktoum and briefed Shaikh Mohammed on the main highlights of the report. In his briefing, Justice Hwang mentioned the main
agreements that DIFC had signed with a number of international business centres which reflect the reputable status the courts has attained on the international level.
In this context, the International Bar Association
had chosen Dubai to host its annual conference; the largest gathering of the international legal community in the world and a meeting place for more than 4,000 lawyers and legal professionals from around the world.
Shaikh Mohammed expressed satisfaction with the achievements and sound reputation of DIFC Courts on the regional and international levels. He commended efforts of DIFC Courts staff to uphold the principles
of justice, transparency and efficiency.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Director of Dubai Ruler's Office Lt. General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan, DIFC Governor Essa Abdulfattah Kazim, Judge Omar Jumaa Al Muhairi, Judge Ali Shamis Al Madhani, Judge Shamlan Al Sawalhi and DIFC Courts Deputy Chairperson Amna Al Owais.
