Manama, June 27th (BNA) - Vice-President of the National Foundation for Human Rights (NFHR) and Chairman of the Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee, Abdullah Ahmad Al-Dirazi received this morning the Special Representative of the European Union for Human Rights, Stavros Lambrinidis, and Head of EU delegation to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Adam Colakh at the headquarters of (NFHR) at Al-Seif District.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vice-President of (NFHR) welcomed the visit of the members of the delegation, which comes in the framework of the cooperation and communication with the international bodies, and to exchange points of view. He highlighted that (NFHR) aspires to develop cooperation and exchange experiences in the area of human rights and benefit from it in strengthening its achievements in this field.
The Vice-President of (NFHR) presented a brief for the delegation on the role of the Foundation in reinforcing and developing human rights in Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the most important mechanisms applied to achieve its goals in protecting all rights.
For his part, the Special Representative of the European Union for Human Rights, Stavros Lambrinidis stressed the concern of the European Union in reinforcing and developing cooperation with (NFHR) in the area of human rights, praising its important role in spreading the culture of human rights in the Kingdom.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee, Dr. Fawzia Saeed Al-Saleh, the Secretary General, Counselor Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Farhan, and from the European side, the political Counselor of the special representative of the European Union for Human Rights, Michelle Rio, and First secretary for Political Affairs at the European Union's Commission.
